Big Sur Lodging. Stay in the heart of Big Sur in one of our sparkling clean and comfortable guest rooms. Our Riverside Suites overlook the expansive lawn and redwood-lined Big Sur River, and feature private bedrooms with king size beds, televisions, coffee makers and trundle- style beds in the living rooms. Our Motel Style Rooms are located along historic Highway One across from the main lodge. These rooms are furnished with either one or two queen size beds, and each features television and WiFi.

All rooms are non-smoking and we do not allow pets. There is free wireless Internet in common areas. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available at our restaurant seven days a week. Meals not included in room rate. (Please see our policies below.)

  • A deposit of the first night’s stay will be charged to guarantee your reservation. The balance for the remainder of your reservation dates is due upon arrival.
  • The Big Sur River Inn requires three (3) days notice to cancel or change any portion of your reservation. Refunds will be issued if you cancel or change any portion of your reservation more than three (3) days* prior to scheduled arrival, less a $20.00 cancellation fee. Policies Group reservations are subject to a 2-week cancel policy, and a $20.00 per room cancellation fee.
  • A no show will forfeit the reservation deposit. We will cancel any additional nights the following morning.
  • You may check in any time after 4:00pm, checkout is 12:00pm.
  • Our guestrooms are clean, comfortable and smoke-free.
  • There are no telephones in our guestrooms as is customary in the area.
  • There is no smoking, vaping or burning of incense or candles in our guest rooms.
  • Although we enjoy pets as much as anyone, not all of our guests feel the same way so we ask that you comply with our no pets policy and leave them at home.

This state park is named after Julia Pfeiffer Burns, a well-respected pioneer woman in the Big Sur country. The park stretches from the Big Sur coastline into nearby 3,000-foot ridges. It features an 80-foot waterfall that drops from granite cliffs into the ocean from the Overlook Trail. A panoramic view of the ocean and miles of rugged Big Sur California coastline is available from the higher elevations along the trails east of Highway 1.
